Agile Process at Microexcel

Agile Principles at Microexcel

Microexcel’s Project team members follow the below Agile principles consistently to deliver the best possible business value to  customers.

  • The highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software
  • Welcome changing requirements, even late in development. Agile processes harness change for the customer’s competitive advantage
  • Deliver working software frequently, from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, with a preference for the shorter timescale
  • Business people and developers must work together daily throughout the project
  • Give individuals the environment and support they need, and trust them to get the job done
  • The most efficient and effective method of conveying information to and within a development team is face-to-face conversation
  • Working software is the primary measure of progress
  • Promote sustainable development
  • The sponsors, developers and users should be able to maintain a constant pace indefinitely
  • Continuous attention to technical excellence and good design enhances agility
  • Simplicity – the art of maximizing the amount of work not done – is essential
  • The best architectures, requirements and designs emerge from self organizing teams
  • At regular intervals, the team should reflect on how to become more effective, and then tune and adjust its behavior accordingly
Highly Cooperative Teams

Highly Cooperative Teams

At Microexcel, when something needs to be done, a team with group of relevant people will form an ad hoc team. The composition of that team will likely not be constrained by people’s job titles or place; rather, it will be driven by the needs of the job at hand and the skill sets of the available people. This team would then work closely together and draw any needed information directly from its source, within or outside of the Microexcel.

Changing Requirements

At Microexcel we welcome the changes in requirements as opposed to the traditional ‘resistance to the change’ approach.

Changing Requirements

Agile for better collaboration

The Agile methodology at Microexcel helps our team members in collaborating with the customer in an optimized way through out the project lifecycle.

Adaptive lifecycle

At Microexcel, we use adaptive life-cycle as part of our iterative and incremental development plan.

Requirements Management

At Microexcel the requirements are managed with Product Backlog and Sprint Backlog.

  • Each and every requirement is documented as one item in the “Product Backlog.”
  • The Product Backlog includes both user requirements and technical or implementation requirements
  • Any person can add an item to the Product Backlog at any time
  • The customer has sole responsibility for prioritizing the Product Backlog items.
  • For each iteration of development (each Sprint), the team chooses items from the Product Backlog to constitute the “Sprint Backlog” (using the items’ priorities as one consideration in their choices).
  • The Sprint Backlog is not allowed to change during a Sprint.
  • At the end of each Sprint, the customer determines which Product Backlog items have been satisfied, and those items are removed from the Product Backlog
